New Orleans Trip

This past weekend I went to New Orleans for my sister's bachelorette party. We had a lot of fun and hit most of the "must do" things while in New Orleans.

I made us all little "survival kits" just using gift bags from Target and a silver paint pen.

I added all of the necessities we may need during our trip.

Custom shirt from Etsy//Free People shorts, old (similar)//Rebecca Minkoff crossbody, (similar color here)
Tote (get $25 off $100)//Hat, old (similar)//Sam Edelman gladiators, old

My outfit for the drive and our first day.

We started the day with lunch at the Old Coffepot Restaurant.  We are huge fans of Diner's, Drive-ins, and Dives, so seeing that Guy had been there we knew it was a must stop.  It definitely didn't disappoint.  The jambalaya was insanely good!!

Since we were across the street from Pat O'Brien's, of course that was the perfect stop after lunch for hurricanes!!

We then headed to the Cat's Meow for karaoke because I mean who doesn't love seeing a bunch of "over served" people try to sing.

We started Day 2 with brunch at Mother's.  We had to stand in line for about 15-20 min, but it seemed to move quickly.  We were told the line was standard, so don't let that steer you away.  The food was amazing, but I was so hungry, I didn't even take a pic.  I had grits with baked ham.  They are famous for their ham, and now I know why!!

We also had the cute little "bomb" cups to drink out of all day.  These were a hit everywhere we went, however, most were quite disappointed that I bought them here in Birmingham and not at a bar in New Orleans.

Custom shirt from Etsy//Jeans//Crossbody

We decided we didn't have enough beads, so of course we quickly found a store with 3 for $9, so we all grabbed the biggest we could find and piled them on.  Glasses are from Party City.  We all had them for Day 2. :)

Sis and I before dinner on Night 2.
We went to Emeril's NOLA restaurant.  It was so good, especially the dessert below.  Service was great also.  Highly recommend.

The dessert mentioned above... The Elvis!!  Has banana, pralines, and bacon.  I mean who doesn't love that combo.

Other highlights that I didn't capture was my favorite part... Gambling at Harrah's!!  Nothing makes me smile like the sound of a slot machine!!  :)  Also, we stayed at the Marriott.  Super nice hotel, very large rooms.  We had a fabulous view of the river to see all the cruise ships coming in and out which of course made me want to take a cruise now.  Hope you enjoyed my recap!!  A new Look for Less will be up tomorrow.
